The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is an organization designed to prepare students for the complexities of the modern business world. Its primary mission is to serve as a bridge between academic learning and practical career application, while focusing on leadership experiences. By providing a structured environment for students to navigate business scenarios, the club aims to produce graduates who are prepared to enter the workforce with a functional understanding of the business world.
The 2026 season has seen significant accomplishments by the students in FBLA. From a membership of over 30 students who competed at the Regional level, 16 members qualified for the Pennsylvania State Leadership Convention. At the State level, the club secured two top-10 placements: Ari Manilov earned 4th place, qualifying for the national competition, while Daniel Zhao placed 6th. These results reflect the competitive standard and constant preparation that the students need to be successful.
The competitive process for FBLA varies based on the student’s chosen area of expertise. Events are
generally categorized into objective tests, roleplays, or formal presentations. For instance, a student competing in International Business may begin with a written exam at the regional level; if they place within the top 15 at States, they then advance to the second round involving a live roleplay. Throughout these conferences, a strict professional dress code is mandated, and following the various standards is a prerequisite for participation.
Beyond the competitive element, the organization emphasizes the importance of networking and professional exposure. State conferences provide a venue for members to interact with peers from different places, and they offer an early look at the professional environments students will likely encounter after graduation. Congrats to this year’s FBLA members and their accomplishments!
