Born just outside of the Poconos, Mr. Solomon is currently the school’s gifted support teacher. Mr. Solomon has been teaching at Lower Moreland High School for a total of 13 years. He previously taught economics, political science (currently named Government and Civics), American Studies, and Film Studies prior to becoming a full-time gifted teacher. Before coming to Lower Moreland, Mr. Solomon taught in Southern Maryland and in Russia where he taught Social Studies as part of an international teacher swap.
During his time at Northampton High School, Mr. Solomon played Varsity Tennis and competed as a Varsity swimmer as well. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he got his Anthropology and Sociology degrees, and a Master’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. He also obtained a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Temple and a real estate license 4 years ago. Additionally, during his time at University, Mr. Solomon studied abroad, visiting Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and many other countries.
Mr. Solomon has two kids, one in kindergarten and another who is four years old. Mr. Solomon also has a dog named Quincy who he describes as “if a cup of coffee and a bottle rocket had a child.” Mr. Solomon married his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Solomon, in 2014 and she currently works at Murray Avenue as an English teacher. Mr. Solomon believes that despite Mrs. Solomon’s claims of love for travel, she does not truly enjoy exploring and would rather read a book instead of sightseeing.

Mr. Solomon is most afraid of bees after getting stung by one on the neck four years ago.
His favorite movie is the second Batman movie, The Dark Night Rises, and his favorite TV show is Community.
He says that his favorite student is a current Yale Student and 2021 graduate of Lower Moreland, Manav Singh.
Mr. Solomon’s favorite teachers are his classroom neighbors, Mr. Beck and Mr. Blair.
Mr. Solomon used to snowboard in high school and strongly believes that snowboarding is far easier than skiing.
If Mr. Solomon won the lottery, he would use the money to fund a trip to Japan.
Mr. Solomon says that he lives by the quote OHIO or “Only Handle It Once.”
Overall, Mr. Solomon is a kind, knowledgeable, and interesting person and we are happy to have him as our gifted support teacher!
