On Friday, October 29th, a small group of Lower Moreland High School students from the Gifted Program will travel to Temple University’s Fox School of Business to participate in an exciting event titled “FOMO: Fear of Missing Orders?” Hosted by Temple’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) department, the event is designed to give high school students a hands-on look at how supply chains function and why they are essential to keeping the world moving.
During the two-hour session, held in Alter Hall, students will engage in interactive activities that simulate the real-world challenges of supply chain management, like planning, coordinating, and problem-solving to ensure that goods and services reach their destinations efficiently. Through these activities, participants will gain insight into how supply chains affect industries across the globe, from technology and healthcare to fashion and entertainment.
In addition to the hands-on component, students will learn about the various career paths within supply chain management and how the field blends business, analytics, and innovation. Faculty and current students from Temple’s SCM program will share their experiences and discuss how the Fox School’s curriculum prepares students for success in an increasingly interconnected economy.
The trip also offers students a glimpse into college life at one of Philadelphia’s leading business schools. Between activities, participants will enjoy pizza, receive Fox School merchandise, and have opportunities to ask questions about academics, internships, and student life at Temple.
For Lower Moreland students interested in business, management, or global economics, the FOMO event promises to be both educational and inspiring, showing how something as complex as the global supply chain can be made tangible, engaging, and full of opportunity.
