Lower Moreland High School’s spring musical, Mamma Mia!, brought the house down with record-breaking crowds, contagious energy, and ABBA-fueled fun during its three-night run and Saturday matinee on April 3rd–5th. Performed at the Lower Moreland Middle School auditorium, the production left audiences singing, dancing, and filled with nostalgia.
Set on a Greek island, Mamma Mia! tells the story of Sophie, a young woman determined to discover the identity of her father before her wedding. With her mother Donna and two best friends—Rosie and Tanya—by her side, the musical unfolds with hilarious misadventures, heartfelt revelations, and crowd-favorite ABBA classics like “Dancing Queen,” “Super Trouper,” and “Mamma Mia.”
Director Leah Abramson said she “couldn’t be more proud” of the students. “Everyone worked together so well to create an amazing final product. The joy was visible and contagious on all the cast members’ faces,” she shared. “Audiences could tell the kids were having fun, and it made the show enjoyable to watch.”
Senior Grace Kwon described the show as a perfect way to bring her high school career to an end. “I absolutely loved embodying my character and stepping into her world,” she said. “Every show was different and special in its own way. I just hope people were able to relate to and learn from the heartwarming moments.”
Cast member Cypher Santiago added, “We improved really fast and eventually made something I’m really proud of. I love my fellow cast and crew a lot—they all worked so hard, and it really paid off.”
With hours of rehearsals, months of commitment, and lots of dedication, Mamma Mia! was more than just a musical—it was a vibrant display of collaboration, creativity, and heart. Lower Moreland’s Drama Club once again united the community with an unforgettable performance, uplifting energy, and a story that left audiences smiling long after the final curtain.
