With thousands of tests piling up and hopes for brighter days, there’s nothing better than a cozy, fun event to help brighten the mood. For students and staff alike at Lower Moreland, Java Jam is one of the musical events that lets them wind down and show off their incredible musical capabilities.
This year’s Java Jam was like any other: filled with talented performers, amazement, and delicious food. The event took place in the beautiful Black Box theater, where students, staff, and parents alike enjoyed a number of performances with a cozy ambience!
In fact, one of Java Jam’s key coordinators, Alyssa Gottesman, graciously expressed that this year, though bittersweet due to her involvement with the event over the years, was a huge success, with Adrienne Nicastro’s performance of “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl as her favorite.
Java Jam additionally served as an introduction to performing for many students, with both first-time performer and spectator Isabella Leung stating, “My first time performing didn’t go as I planned it with the typical nerves, but the sense of community helped ease the embarrassment afterwards and filled it with excitement after. I would do it again— it’s very fun!”
With hundreds of musically-inclined students and staff populating our school, 2025’s Java Jam marked a record-breaking year with nearly thirty sign-ups from students and staff to perform! In the end, countless soloists, duos, and bands like In The Making and Staff Infection showcased their incredible talents through their respective performances.
Overall, Java Jam was and continues to be a phenomenal experience for students and staff at Lower Moreland who see a future in performing arts or simply find joy in music. There truly is no other euphoric feeling that compares to that of doing what you love and/or watching such talent, so when the time comes, make sure to make your way to the Black Box theater next year to witness another fantastic Java Jam!
