Former Lower Moreland alumni, Dr. Peter Boonshaft makes a visit to his old stomping grounds. Dr. Boonshaft is a well known name in the music industry. He is an exceptional conductor and former music professor at Hofstra University. The Lower Moreland band had the privilege of working with the conductor for a short period of time prior to their winter concert and during the concert as well!
On December 3rd, during the highschool band winter concert, Dr. Boonshaft conducted one piece called “Prophecy” with the band. The band had an incredible time working with Dr. Peter Boonshaft and was able to learn many new techniques on how to grow as musicians. This experience also brought great joy to Dr. Boonshaft as he was able to return to where he went to school years ago! In the words of Dr. Boonshaft, “I was asked if I would rather work with the Marine Corps Band again or with the Lower Moreland High School band, and I said the Lower Moreland High School band!” Lower Moreland was very excited and very grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity! Thank you Dr. Boonshaft for this wonderful opportunity!
