Splatter some color, show some love!
Every year, LMHS runs a Color Run open to students, staff, and the community. This color run supports LMHS Mini-THON, an event that raises money for Four Diamonds, a non-profit organization that supports children and their families who are fighting pediatric cancer by helping families pay for medical bills, covering the cost for various therapies, and so on. The annual Color Run this year took place on September 21st at Lower Moreland High School.
This year, there were over 500 participants, including community members, students, and staff, in addition to the 80 Mini-THON captains. Participants were encouraged to run or walk the 5K to show their support for the cause. Additionally, to encourage the younger kids, there was a 1.5 mile fun run at the end with a “turn-around taco.”
Those who participated in this event started off their day with a 5K while being covered in color powder throughout the race and at the finish line, hence the name color run. One high school senior said, “The Color Run is such an amazing and fun event and a great opportunity to come together for a great cause!” Many others can attest to that.
Although this event has already happened, there are still ways to be involved with Four Diamonds and the LMHS Mini-THON. Students are encouraged to join Mini-THON, coming up on November 22nd, and be a dancer as a way to contribute to this great cause. FTK!!
