With May around the corner, LM Art students and teachers have begun planning for the LMHS Art Showcase. The event allows students’ families, their peers, and other members of the community to come together to see our artists’ best works of the year. The collaborative showcase displays a range of styles from classes including ceramics and sculpture, drawing and painting, graphic design, and photography. The higher level AP courses are also on display, and it is amazing to see the unique themes the students have developed in their portfolios.
Although the showcase isn’t until May 16th (6:30-8:00 PM), there are already signs of preparation in the new high school. This year’s festival will be especially innovative and interesting as it will be held in the new LMHS building for the first time. The new structure’s great natural lighting and large open spaces will allow student art work to shine even more.
In addition, this year’s event will be coupled with the LMHS Soulstice performance. The musical event will be held in the courtyard of the new school around the same time period (7-9:30 PM), which gives visitors even more opportunities to see different forms of artwork and creativity from the students in the District. The performing and visual arts events will be exciting to see in the new building this May!
