Born in Glenside, PA, Mr. Dominick is the Athletic Director of Lower Moreland High School. Before coming to Lower Moreland, Mr. Dominick was a long-term sub at several schools in Southeastern PA and taught for five and half years at a Catholic private school, Villa Joseph Marie. Mr. Dominick was hired at Lower Moreland as a long-term sub for 8th grade English in 2020 and then as a long-term sub for Mrs. Lippo in 2020-2021 before he started full-time as the Athletic Director in 2022.
Mr. Dominick’s early childhood involved frequent visits to his grandparents’ shore house in Sea Isle. For 45 years, it was owned by his grandparents and he used to visit with his sister and two cousins.
During high school, Mr. Dominick played Soccer, Basketball, and Track and Field. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, joining his school’s Jazz Ensemble as a guitarist and performing with the school’s guitar ensemble as well. Even after high school and college, Mr. Dominick continued to play the guitar, starting an acoustic duo with one of his best friends, Ryan.
After high school, Mr. Dominick attended Duquesne University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Education. After graduating in 2006, Mr. Dominick obtained a Master’s in English from Villanova University. Mr. Dominick’s favorite quote is “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air” by Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American Essayist, further proving his love for English.
In addition to playing the guitar, Mr. Dominick has a strong love for poetry, publishing two poetry compilations, The Gorgeous Ache of Eternity in February of 2021 and The Pulse of the Past in December of 2021. Recently, Mr. Dominick has had less time to write, but still enjoys writing short poems such as the following, entitled “This Age is Gone.”
“Can we begin again?” she mused,
As if the past could be erased,
The sweet bliss of existence
Circumscribed within her face.
There is only this moment, friends,
And then this age is gone,
So embrace the sunlight while you can,
And the days are bright and long.
Mr. Dominick finds it rewarding to be able to make a positive impact on the students and teachers at Lower Moreland through his role as the Athletic Director. He is always open to meeting new people, so if you ever want to say hi or have a chat, don’t hesitate to stop by!
